HomeWater Polo Skills

Join our introductory water polo skills sessions for 2022! Contact us to find out more.

Our skills sessions reinforce water safety and swim survival, by working on the basic skills required for kids to play water polo: specific swimming strokes and treading water, including mixed-stroke swimming, swimming with a ball and treading water to catch, pass and shoot a ball.

We then use these skills as a base to develop an understanding of how to pick up, catch, pass and shoot a water polo ball, all while treading water.

By the end of the session – kids are starting to combine all of the skills in different drills – swimming with a ball, treading water, picking up and passing a ball, catching a pass and shooting a ball.

"Enjoyment guides development"

Our aim first and foremost at our sessions is that the kids are having fun, and find the skills challenging. We believe that enjoyment guides development.

So if the faces are smiling, it doesn’t matter how hard a skill is – when you enjoy yourself, you want to learn. It is only a matter of time.
