ANNOUNCEMENTS
*** Saturday 20 February 2010*** A DOLPHIN FOR ME, A DOLPHIN FOR ME.... is this what we will hear tomorrow echoing out of Lambton pool. With Lake Macquarie in four out of the five Grand finals tomorrow there is a very good chance.
Saturdays finals started for the Dolphins with a diffcult game for our Junior girls against Raymond Terrace. Unfortunately Raymond Terrace were too big for our girls this time and we went down 16 - 3. Our next challenge was for our Junior Boys who faced Easts. Our boys cruised to a 13 -1 victory and now face the formidable Central Junior Boys in what will be a hard fought Grand final tomorrow. Next our youngest Dolphins stepped up. The Under Fourteens smashed Central 14 to 8 and for our youngest team they now face Raymond Terrace in their Grand final. This will be an exciting game and our Junior Dolphins are definately able to win this game but they will need oru loudest support. Eat well young Dolphins.
Then the seniors stepped up. Boosted by the great performances of our juniors the Women jumped in first led by their great leader Karla Stewart. Karla talked strategy prior to the game to prepare the team. Facing a team that they had not beaten (and not even come closed to beating) throughout the season the women started strong scoring three goals in the first 2 minutes without reply. From this lead they went on to win 14 - 12 in a very convincing win. They will now go on to play Central in the Grand final. If the women recover from yesterday's Herculian effort things will shape up well for a very close grand final.
The Men were also facing a formidable opponent in Cessnock in their Final. Having last met Cessnock and been defeated by over 20 goals, the men were not feeling confident. However they started with a 3 - 1 win in the first quarter and never looked back leading all the way. The final score was a comfortable but tense 11 - 9 win. Kyle's advice to hold the ball with a few seconds to go and a 1 goal lead was ignored by the number five Joel Wales - but as the result was a goal Kyle is now changin this advice to "hold the ball or score" The men now face a stong Central team in the Grand final. This should be a very tough and entertaining game. The mens number 12 may even be forced to enter the defending end of the pool!!
I hope to see all of our Dolphins friends and families there tomorrow to support all of these teams. We have done an amazing job to have so many teams in the Grand Finals and every player should give a huge thank you to their family and friends who put in a huge effort to let us all play and train throughout the season. Thank you also to all of the players and mums and dads who have helped out with referring and table duty. You have been truly so supportive.
So to end... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DOLPHIN FOR ME A DOPLPHIN FOR ME. IF YOUR NOT A DOLPHIN YOUR NO GOOD TO ME. CENTRAL ARE POORER CESSNOCK AND ALL. WE'RE THE MIGHTY YOUNG DOLPHINS THE PRIDE OF THEM ALL.
Go DOLPHINS!!
The Dolphinman.

RULES
There have been new competition rules developed for this season. These rules cover everything from games time to judiciary matters to the role of team captains. It is very important that all members read these rules. There have been changes implemented to the way in which teams may speak with a referred and new duties for Captains of the team which everyone needs to be aware of, particularly if you are a coach or a manager of a team.
A GRADE
The A Grade competition has kicked off in its new format on a Tuesday (Men) and Wednesday (Women) night at Raymond Terrace pool. These have been reported to be very good nights with a high level of competition. Our female juniors and women B grade have a great opportunity to get extra water time through playing in an extra game of a Wednesday night without having to fall out of B Grade. Please speak to Ellie or Nicole about this if you are interested.
CLUB SHIRTS

If you have a business or know of a business interested in this please speak to Club President Glen Boyko. Shirt will be of a polo shirt design and will be provided at a small cost to all members. The more sponsors we get the less cost we will have to pass onto our members. Orders for these shirts will be taken in the near future.

Order forms will be handed out at training tonight and will also be available to down load off the web. Swimmer orders can now be put onto these forms as well. These items are available for order throughout the year. Completed forms and money should be returned to Vicki Grubb.
