27/01/2009	Women B grade wins country club. Congradulations to Karla and her ladies on the clubs first womens country club win   in over 15 years. The ladies played   Lavington in the final   and after dominating and controling the whole game they took the win   9-7. Special thanks to the Wyong   girls who   played a big part in this great win. Other Results. Mens B grade finished in third place   which was a great result considering the age of some of our players.   A special mention to Peter McConville who was drafted in to the team on short notice and showed the younger members of the club why he is   still hot property. We would like to wish   Peter all the best at his new club Wagga Wagga. Mens A. The men   A also had a number of junior boys who under the guidance of the older team members showed the future of this team is looking very good and with more hard work and training they are the future of the club. To all the parent who attended thank you so much for making country 2009 one to remember.
09/01/09	SAND FLY CUP AND SEASON PRESENTATION Sunday 8th February Swansea Pool – 9am   On Sunday 8th February, Lake Macquarie Water Polo Club will be holding the first ever running of the Sand Fly Cup (National Bird of Swansea). Hopefully this will become an annual event held for club members to celebrate the season, encourage inter club relations and help develop water polo within our club.   This year there will be a junior and senior division, with three teams in each division. Games will commence at 9am. The duration of each game will be 24 minutes (2 x 12 minute halves). Each team will comprise 8 players, with 6 players in the water at once (1 goalkeeper and 5 field players). At the end of the first half, teams will swap ends. After the round games, the team that has the most wins will go straight into the Grand Final, with the other two teams playing off in the Final, with the winner progressing to the Grand Final.   Following the Grand Finals, we will commence the season presentation in the club room next to the pool. Refreshments will be available along with a gourmet BBQ. Awards will be made to the teams for the season along with the presentation of the prestigious Sand Fly Cup.

Program 10 week program 4 Feb – 8 April 2009 Run for existing players and any new players over 12 (or players identified through Flippa Ball) Cost - $0 to existing players; $40 for new players Run by one senior coach with at least two assistant coaches Run on a Wednesday night from 6:30 – 8:00pm   There will be a number of sessions run by Players and coaches from the Hunter Hurricanes, Hunter Academy of sport and Lake Macquarie Water Polo Club.   All welcome intermediate swimming experience needed, just bring swimmers. 07/01/09	Flipper Ball (modified water polo for children) Program Run over the ten weeks of term one 2009. Begin Wednesday 4 February and run every Wednesday until the 8 April (wed before Good Friday) – ten weeks Run from 7:00 – 8:00pm Fees - $40 Registration fee – then pool entry only. Age groups – under 9’s – 12 years.   Flipper ball will be run by Players and coaches from the Hunter Hurricanes, Hunter Academy of sport and Lake Macquarie Water Polo Club.   All welcome no experience needed, just bring swimmers. Members please put the word out this well increase membership within our club which is needed after the poor numbers this season. There will be a briefing held on Wednesday 28 January 2008 for volunteers to assist with this program to brief them on the content and running of the sessions.
8.12.2008	SEMI FINALS Congratulations to the following teams who have made it through to the Semi Finals: Under Fourteens Junior Boys Womens B Mens B Womens A Mens A Unfortunately our womens teams have not been successful after playing their semis this weekend. All other teams will play their semi on Saturday 13 December 2008. Your coach will have the time and pool that you play at (Lambton or Swansea). You must confirm you time with your coach and must let them know (not any one else) that you are not able to attend. All Grand Finals will be held at Lanbton pool on Sunday 14 December 2008. Please feel free to browse these resources Flippa Ball This program will run in term 1 of 2009. It is for junior players aged 8-12 and will be a ten weeks program with the cost at this time likely to be $30 plus pool entry. We will be looking for volunteers to help out on a Wednesday night with a briefing for volunteers to occur at the club room on Wenesday 28 January 2008.

17.9.08	TRAINING Training begins tonight (Wed 17 Sept 2008) at 6:30pm to 8pm at Swansea pool for all members. Swim training at Coughlans pool will begin again on   Saturday 27 September 2008 at 9:30am. Thanks to everyone who turned out on the first session. 5.9.08	SWIM TRAINING CANCELLED Due to unforseen circumstances swim training at Coughlan's Swim Centre this Saturday at 9:30am has had to be cancelled. This will resume the following Saturday being the 13th September 2008.

8 August 2008	Annual General Meeting The AGM was held tonight. These minutes will also be added to this page shortly. In brief: Fees were set - Senior $195   Junior $120 For those players who pay their fees before or on Restration day they will be able to pay at last years fees of Senior $185 and Junior $110. Registration day will be on Sunday 14 September 2008 at Swansea Pool Club house between 1 and 4pm. Rego forms will be posted out shortly or download the form from the link below. Swim training sessions will begin at Coughlans Pool - Hillsborough   on Saturday from the 6 September betwen 9:30 and 10:30am for the cost of $5 Training for all club members will begin on Wednesday 17 September 2008 at Swansea Pool.   We have also planned some events for this year including a trivia night and race day. Looking forward to seeing more members at our next meeting which is scheduled for Monday 15 September 2008 at 7pm at Swansea RSL.
